Lille can move into contention for a top-eight place in the Champions League with victory at Bologna on Matchday Five.

The French side are 14th but only two points off Aston Villa, who currently occupy eighth place, while Bologna are in danger of being knocked out as they have just a point so far and sit down in 31st in the table.

Bologna are set to be without defender Martin Erlic, midfielder Michel Aebischer and forward Dan Ndoye for the clash with Lille.

Santiago Castro should lead the line for the hosts, while Stefan Posch will miss Bologna's next match in the Champions League if he picks up a booking.

Lille will have to do without the injured Ethan Mbappe and Tiago Santos, while Ismaily, Thomas Meunier and Angel Gomes are all rated as doubts for the visitors.

Lille pair Jonathan David and Andre Gomes run the risk of suspension in the next European outing if they are shown a yellow card.

The stats

Bologna are yet to score in the Champions League.

Bologna's three-game winning run in Serie A — which included a 3-2 victory at Roma — came to an end on Sunday when they lost 3-0 at Lazio.

Lille are unbeaten in 11 matches in all competitions and won 1-0 at home against Rennes on Sunday in Ligue 1.

Bologna are eighth in Serie A, 11 points behind leaders Napoli.

Lille are fourth in Ligue 1, 10 points adrift of Paris Saint-Germain at the top.

Prediction

Lille's long unbeaten run stretches back to the middle of September when they lost 2-0 at Sporting Lisbon in their Champions League opener and they know victory at Bologna will keep them in contention for a coveted top-eight place in the new League phase of the competition.

They followed up their shock 1-0 home victory over reigning European champions Real Madrid with an equally-impressive 2-1 success against Atletico Madrid and then a 1-1 draw with Juventus on Matchday Four, keeping their campaign ticking along nicely.

Up against a Bologna outfit that has only managed a point so far, the visitors look solid value at 19/10 with LiveScore Bet to come out on top.

The hosts have yet to score in their four games and are clearly finding things tough in their debut season in Europe's premier club competition.

After the Italian side earned a goalless draw with Shakhtar Donetsk on their Champions League bow, they have subsequently lost 2-0 to both Liverpool and Aston Villa and 1-0 to Monaco to leave them with plenty of work to do if they are to mount a bid to finish in the top 24 and secure at least a play-off place.
