Ben Chilwell has vowed to help Chelsea get back to their best after extending his contract.

The Blues have added an extra two years to the England left-back's deal, meaning he will remain at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2027.

Having been blighted by injuries in the past, Chilwell has featured 26 times during what has been a rocky season in West London.

But the ex-Leicester ace, 26, believes he and his team-mates can give the fans more to cheer about in years to come.

He told the club's official website: "I feel very settled at Chelsea and have really enjoyed my time on the pitch here.

"So I'm very pleased the club want me to be part of the project long-term and am very happy to sign this extension.

"We are working hard for success and I will do my best to bring more smiles to the faces of the fans who have made me feel so welcome."

Chilwell, who has won 18 caps for his country, signed a five-year deal when he joined the Blues from Leicester in August 2020.

He is expected to feature on Wednesday night as Frank Lampard's men head to the Bernabeu for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.

Having won the tournament in his first season with the club, Chilwell will be one of the experienced stars Lampard turns to as the Londoners bid to keep alive their last remaining hope of silverware this term.

In addition to lifting the Champions League since switching to the Bridge, Chilwell has also tasted European Super Cup success and picked up an FA Cup runners-up medal.
