Arsenal vs Burnley predictions: Clarets to struggle on the road

Arsenal will hope to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they host Burnley on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta's side were beaten 1-0 by Newcastle at St James' Park, with the decision to allow the Magpies' winner deemed a "disgrace" by the Spaniard.

Arsenal ended a run of two consecutive defeats, though, by beating Sevilla 2-0 in the Champions League.

Burnley have had more time to prepare for Saturday's game, but Vincent Kompany's team will be low on confidence, having lost five on the spin in all competitions.

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka is a doubt after limping off against Sevilla, but Arteta tried to play down fears that he has a race to be fit against the Clarets.

The same can be said of Takehiro Tomiyasu, while Eddie Nketiah and Martin Odegaard are struggling to prove their fitness as they deal with ankle and hip injuries, respectively.

Saturday's game comes too soon for Emile Smith Rowe, Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey, while Jurrien Timber remains a long-term absentee due to a serious knee injury.

Burnley midfielder Josh Cullen is able to play again after serving a suspension, but Kompany is without Manuel Benson, Aaron Ramsey, Michael Obafemi, Ameen Al-Dakhil and Lyle Foster.

Arsenal are unbeaten in three matches against Burnley, keeping a clean sheet in two of those contests.

Arteta's team will be confident they can pick up a positive result as they are yet to lose at home in all competitions.

The Gunners have kept four clean sheets in five matches at the Emirates Stadium, keeping the likes of PSV, Manchester City and Sevilla at bay.

Burnley are winless in five, and they have failed to trouble the scoresheet in three of those contests.

Even with their growing injury list, Arsenal have the strength in depth needed to keep Burnley at bay this week.

The Gunners have been so consistent at home, and their three consecutive clean sheets give them an excellent platform to build from.

Burnley have struggled for goals all season with Foster unavailable; it is tough to see where the goals will come from on Saturday.

Arsenal will hope to pick up a routine victory and avoid any other injury scares, with the international break just around the corner.
