Marti Cifuentes has given QPR a chance of surviving relegation this season

- QPR have lost just one of their last six games in the Championship
- Birmingham have lost their last three games without scoring
- Recommended bet: QPR to win

There is a true six-pointer on the cards in the Championship on Saturday as QPR welcome Birmingham to Loftus Road with both sides in need of points.

QPR, who have spent most of the season in the drop zone, have shown signs of promise in 2024 but go into this game on a three-match winless streak.

Birmingham, meanwhile, have lost each of their last three games without scoring and last won an away contest against Stoke in January.

Team news

Ilias Chair looks set to miss out through injury but QPR should start with Lyndon Dykes up top.

Birmingham's Jay Stansfield was in action for England's Under-21s this week and he could miss out on this clash, with Lukas Jutkiewicz expected to replace him.

The stats

Birmingham have lost each of their last three games 1-0 against Millwall, Middlesbrough and Watford and are without a win in their last six contests.

QPR have lost just one of their last six matches, winning the first three as part of that run.

Goals have been in short supply for both of these teams with QPR and Birmingham having scored only 78 goals in a combined 76 league games this term.

Prediction

Neither of these sides are in a good place right now but there is more reason for optimism for fans of QPR.

Having spent most of the season in the danger zone, things started to look up for the club in February and early March as they reeled off wins over Bristol City, Rotherham and Leicester.

Three games without a win have followed but draws with West Brom and Sunderland in that run were hardly disasters.

At Loftus Road, QPR have lost just one of their last six games and they are worth chancing against troubled visitors Birmingham.

With Tony Mowbray on sick leave, Gary Rowett has returned to the club but all is not well and there is a disjointed feel to the team at the moment.

Birmingham have not even scored, let alone won, any of their last three games and they have gone six matches without victory in the Championship.

They should be opposed when they visit London on Good Friday.
