There are a plethora of exciting fixtures set to take place across Europe this weekend, with plenty of goals expected up and down the continent.

The pick of the action undoubtedly comes from Wembley Stadium, where Chelsea and Liverpool will go to battle for the Carabao Cup in what could be Jurgen Klopp’s last cup final with the club.

We are also expecting goals in France, Scotland and Germany as well as a Premier League striker, having the season of his life, looking worthy of backing in our five goalscorer picks.

Aston Villa vs Nottingham Forest (Saturday, 3pm)

Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins is having a campaign to remember under Unai Emery, with the 28-year old already registering 23 league goal contributions in 25 appearances, with 13 of those being goals.

Watkins has registered four goals in his last four league games and should be able to get another when Forest visit Villa Park, given that the away side have not kept a clean sheet in the league on their travels since October.

Rangers vs Hearts (Saturday, 3pm)

A run of seven consecutive wins has seen Rangers not only close the gap on bitter rivals Celtic, but actually leapfrog them into top spot of the Scottish Premiership.

Talismanic captain James Tavernier has once again been pivotal in this ascent up the table, with 12 goals this season from full-back as well as a brace in their last outing at St Mirren.

Tavernier is again expected to start against Hearts, and he has already scored three times against the Jambos in all competitions this season.

Chelsea vs Liverpool (Sunday, 3pm)

The League Cup final looks set to be a tantalisingly close affair between two of England’s heavyweights, and a resurgent Chelsea could cause an injury-hit Liverpool a host of issues.

Chelsea’s top scorer this season is Cole Palmer, who has grabbed a goal and two assists across his last three league appearances, and he could be at his creative best on Sunday as he looks to give Blues fans’ a moment to remember.

Paris Saint-Germain vs Rennes (Sunday, 4.05pm)

Rennes were knocked out of the Europa League by AC Milan in midweek despite winning 3-2 on the night, with Benjamin Bourigeaud netting a hat-trick.

He goes into the meeting with league leaders Paris Saint-Germain in the best possible form and may get an opportunity to grab another, given that the Parisians have failed to keep a home league clean sheet since the beginning of November.

Borussia Dortmund vs Hoffenheim (Sunday, 4.30pm)

Each of the last 11 goals scored by Borussia Dortmund have been netted by either Nicklas Fullkrug or Donyell Malen, and the latter looks a better bet to grab another on Sunday.

Malen has scored three goals in his last three appearances, including against former employers PSV on Tuesday, and should be able to puncture a Hoffenheim defence that has not kept a clean sheet in their last 19 games in all competitions.
