- Everton have won their last three Premier League home fixtures
- Brentford have lost 11 of their 17 away games in the league
- Recommended bet: Everton to win

It was double delight for Everton on Wednesday night as they both boosted their Premier League survival hopes and dented Liverpool's title aspirations with a 2-0 win at Goodison Park.

The Toffees saw little of the ball against Jurgen Klopp's side but defended valiantly and created opportunities on the counter-attack and from set-pieces.

Goals from Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin sealed the win and they will be eager to follow up with victory over Brentford.

But the Bees have been buzzing too and are fresh from a 5-1 hammering of Luton on Saturday.

Team news

Nathan Patterson, Dele Alli, Beto, Lewis Dobbin and Seamus Coleman are all likely to miss out for hosts Everton.

Ivan Toney is pushing to be fit for the trip to Goodison Park but Josh Dasilva, Aaron Hickey, Rico Henry, Ben Mee and Neal Maupay are all out.

The stats

Everton have lost just one of their last six home games in the Premier League, having won each of their last three without conceding.

Brentford have enjoyed a bit of a resurgence in the Premier League but they have still won just two of their last 11 games in the top flight.

Only Arsenal (19) have scored more league goals from set pieces than Everton (17) this season.

Prediction

Everton took a huge step towards survival on Wednesday and they could mathematically secure their Premier League status for another season if results go their way this weekend.

They looked incredibly well-drilled in the win over Liverpool and that was a third successive home win to nil, following victories against Burnley and Nottingham Forest on Merseyside this month.

Sandwiched between those victories was a 6-0 defeat away to Chelsea but that was an anomalous result with Everton otherwise defending well, especially at home.

Relegation is unlikely for the Toffees now but they will not want to take their foot off the pedal and they have enough in their locker to edge Brentford.

The Bees have recorded back-to-back wins in the top flight but they came against Sheffield United and Luton and were their only two wins in their last 11 games.

A five-game unbeaten run has taken the nerves out of their remaining fixtures but they have still been lacking and Everton should make home advantage count.

Brentford have been underwhelming on their travels this term, picking up only 14 points from 17 league games on the road.
