Sheffield Wednesday have dragged themselves out of the Championship relegation zone and given themselves a strong chance of staying in the second tier.

They next face a West Brom side who are yet to cement their place in the play-offs so still have plenty to play for.

The Baggies have lost one of their last eight on the road, but there have been plenty of draws for Carlos Corberan's team in that run and this looks like being another tight encounter.

Team news

Wednesday will have to do without Ian Poveda up front as he has a hamstring injury.

Mohamed Diaby and Bambo Diaby are unlikely to feature, while Michael Ihiekwe is also doubtful.

West Brom welcome back Brandon Thomas-Asante from suspension and Baggies boss Corberan has no fresh injury concerns.

The stats

- Wednesday are the second-lowest scorers in the Championship this season with 39 goals

- West Brom have the third-tightest defence in the second tier, conceding 44 goals

- The Owls' last three goals have all been draws

- Seven of their last eight games at Hillsborough have featured fewer than three goals

- West Brom have drawn five of their last eight away matches

- Seven of the Baggies' last eight away games have seen both teams score

Prediction

Draws have hindered Carlos Corberan's West Brom this season

This clash impacts both ends of the Championship table and victory would be of huge value, but neither team may be able to muster enough to capture those three precious points.

Albion take a strong away record to Hillsborough and their only defeat in their last eight road games came last time out at leaders Leicester, who are going all guns blazing for an immediate return to the Premier League.

The Baggies performed well in losing 2-1 at the King Power and had chances to take something from the match, but they have had problems getting over the line on their travels with five of their previous seven on the road ending level.

So it would not be a surprise if it was a similar story in South Yorkshire, where the Owls have drawn their last three games against Swansea, Norwich and Stoke.

Goals have been an issue for Wednesday but they are showing an ability to dig in under manager Danny Rohl, as they did when they earned their 3-1 win at Blackburn last week that took them out of the drop zone.

But they could find Albion challenging to break down and as seven of their last eight home games have featured fewer than three goals, there looks a decent chance that this one could also finish level.
