Bruno Guimaraes could play a key role for Newcastle on Saturday

There are eight matches taking place in the Premier League on Saturday with the race for Europe and relegation battle taking centre stage.

Here are our experts' selections for the day's matches.

Newcastle vs West Ham (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Because of how the game is likely to map out, with Newcastle enjoying far more possession, expect plenty of efforts on goal with Bruno Guimaraes taken to fire off at least two.

The Brazilian midfielder is the key figure driving the Toon along at the moment and Newcastle are far better when he is further forward and influencing the game in the final third.

Bournemouth vs Everton (Saturday, 3pm)

With Bournemouth clear of the relegation zone and too far adrift to qualify for Europe, they are one of the few Premier League sides with nothing significant to play for.

The Cherries' recent struggles at home will further bolster Everton’s hopes of claiming a positive result on the south coast.

Chelsea vs Burnley (Saturday, 3pm)

Chelsea's recent upturn in form will give them the belief that they can record another victory, and they face a Burnley side that have been hapless on the road.

Cole Palmer created one goal and scored another in Chelsea's recent 3-2 win over Newcastle, and he was also on the scoresheet against the Clarets earlier in the campaign.

Palmer is elusive and skilful in and around the penalty area, and he is likely to have his say in another Chelsea victory.

Nottingham Forest vs Crystal Palace (Saturday, 3pm)

Both teams have scored in four of Nottingham Forest's last six games at home and they passed up several good chances to score in the only match during that run when they failed to register — the 1-0 defeat to Liverpool earlier this month.

And with both teams having scored in seven of Crystal Palace's last eight away league games, plus the recent tendency of both clubs to concede late goals, each side should have ample opportunities to get on the scoresheet this weekend.

Sheffield United vs Fulham (Saturday, 3pm)

It has been a torrid campaign for Sheffield United and Chris Wilder revealed before the international break that he would be travelling to speak with the club's owners, potentially to start planning for next season.

All is not lost for United, though, with Fulham's defending occasionally indifferent on the road, but the Cottagers, although enigmatic, have been excellent in recent outings and should win.

Tottenham vs Luton (Saturday, 3pm)

Ange Postecoglou has had two weeks to stew over Tottenham's desperate 3-0 loss at Fulham before the international break, a result which cost them ground in the top-four race.

Back at home where they win far more than they lose, he will expect amends to be made, especially against a Luton side who cannot keep a clean sheet for love nor money.

To that end, neither can Tottenham, which is why over 3.5 goals looks obvious. Double that up by backing Tottenham to win and over 3.5 goals.

Aston Villa vs Wolves (Saturday, 5.30pm)

In Aston Villa’s last two league games that were in any way competitive – the 1-1 draw at West Ham and before that the 3-2 success at Luton – they collected three and four yellow cards respectively.

This fixture can certainly be filed under ‘competitive’ so watch the card count with Villa a value bet to pick up three or more cards.

Brentford vs Manchester United (Saturday, 8pm)

Brentford are certainly capable of scoring against a Manchester United defence that is heading to west London with plenty of fitness concerns.

However, keeping the Red Devils out at the other end could be more of a concern for the hosts, as United have scored in 14 matches on the spin and are fresh from putting four past Liverpool.

The outcome of this game may be difficult to call, but one thing that should not be in doubt is the likelihood of goals.
