In-form Norwich are close to securing a Championship play-off place under David Wagner.

- Norwich have won their last eight home league games
- Five of Norwich's last six league wins have seen them keep a clean sheet
- Recommended bet:
Norwich to win to nil

Few are finishing the Championship season with the same conviction as Norwich, who have lost only three of their last 18 league games to put themselves in a commanding position for a play-off place.

While those challenging for the second-tier title are faltering, the Canaries are excelling and another three points against Bristol City would go a long way towards sealing their top-six spot.

David Wagner’s hosts have plenty on the line whereas the Robins have nothing riding on their final four three matches.

Bristol City do find themselves unbeaten in five league matches, so they’ll be heading to Carrow Road full of confidence and hoping they can spoil a certain promotion party.

However, Norwich’s motivation ought to be at a maximum and this is a rivalry they have dominated, having lost only one of the last 14 meetings between the pair.

Team news

Norwich remain without Greek defender Dimitrios Giannoulis and midfielders Liam Gibbs, Onel Hernandez and Jacob Sorensen.

For Bristol City, Robert Atkinson, Samuel Bell, Ayman Benarous, Robert Dickie and Kai Naismith are all missing.

The stats

Norwich have lost only three of their last 18 league matches, while the Canaries are unbeaten in 13 home league games, winning eight on the spin which includes against leaders Ipswich most recently.

Three of Norwich’s last four home league wins have been recorded to nil.

Both teams have scored in only one of Bristol City’s last seven league matches and the Robins have won only two of their last eight Championship away games.

Norwich have won six of their last seven meetings with the Robins, having triumphed 2-1 at Ashton Gate in December.

Prediction

Norwich will be a team to be feared in the Championship play-offs and they are expected to outclass Bristol City at Carrow Road, where they are unbeaten in 13 league games.

Eleven of those 13 matches have resulted in victory, which includes eight in a row, so they are a difficult team to oppose against a City side that have nothing left to play for.

Wagner’s men are scoring freely and defending resolutely and three of their last four home league wins, which includes against leaders Ipswich most recently, have been recorded with a clean sheet.

Bristol City, meanwhile, have failed to score in two of their last three away league games at West Brom and Sunderland and their recent matches have been low-scoring affairs with under 2.5 goals obliging in six of their last seven fixtures.

So, while Norwich are fancied to prevail, it may not be a free-scoring affair and a home win to nil is what makes most appeal.
