- Newcastle have won the last five meetings between these two teams
- The visitors have not conceded a goal in five of last seven league meetings with Fulham
- Recommended bet: Newcastle to win

Newcastle have an excellent recent record in games against Fulham and the Magpies should continue that trend against a side perhaps with one eye on their summer holidays already.

Fulham have conceded six goals in their last two games, a 3-3 draw against Sheffield United and 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest.

The Cottagers are at risk of their season petering out somewhat, they are all but mathematically safe but would need a monumental effort between now and the end of the campaign to secure European football.

Team news

Newcastle will be without Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles, Sandro Tonali, Lewis Miley, Callum Wilson, Joelinton, Tino Livramento, Miguel Almiron, Kieran Trippier and Nick Pope with a mixture of long-term injuries and suspension.

However they will be able to call upon Anthony Gordon, who has served a one-game suspension while Lewis Hall faces a late fitness test. Matt Targett is also a doubt.

Fulham have no injury concerns but it will be interesting to note if Sasa Lukic, Alex Iwobi and Harry Wilson retain their places in the starting lineup after they were all brought off in the 33rd minute against Nottingham Forest.

The stats

Expect both teams to play a part in this one, both teams have scored in seven of Fulham's last nine Premier League games and in Newcastle's last three.

A high-scoring affair also tends to be a given when the Magpies are in action, ten of their last 12 Premier League games have produced over 3.5 goals.

Newcastle are unbeaten in the last eight meetings between the two and have kept a clean sheet in five of the last seven Premier League clashes between the pair.

Prediction

Conceding six goals to two of the bottom four teams in the Premier League will have been deeply concerning for Marco Silva, and they face a considerably stronger attacking unit in the shape of Newcastle here.

The Magpies are the leading scorers outside of the top three, netting 64 times in 30 games, and the return of Anthony Gordon from suspension is a major boost.

Eddie Howe’s side had more than enough chances to get the better of Everton in midweek and with an uptick in their finishing, could pull away from Fulham by the Thames.

The visitors have won the two meetings between these two teams this season by an aggregate score of 5-0 and are fancied to pick up a third win here.
