Euro 2020 Transfer Talk: Toffees target Dumfries as Reds plan Wolves raid
England’s biggest match for over half a century is almost upon us, with just one day to go until their Euro 2020 final face-off with Italy.
Excitement is at fever pitch ahead of the tournament’s showpiece event at Wembley, where the Three Lions will be aiming to make history by winning a first European Championship trophy.
This summer’s competition has been a sensational spectacle and plenty of players from across the continent have been cast into the spotlight.
Here are the latest transfer rumours about players who have caught the eye at the Euros.
Done deal for Dumfries?
Everton are yet to make an official bid for flying full-back Denzel Dumfries, but PSV Eindhoven are expecting an imminent offer for the Dutch star.
The 25-year-old enjoyed a spectacular European Championship, scoring twice as the Netherlands topped Group C before being eliminated in the round of 16 by the Czech Republic.
A fee of £13million should secure the attacking right-back, though Inter Milan are also keen on bringing Dumfries to the San Siro.
Depay’s wage drop
Dumfries’ international team-mate Memphis Depay has already agreed a move to Barcelona, but is having to take a pay cut before even kicking a ball for the Blaugrana.
Barca need to slash their wage bill to fall under LaLiga’s salary cap and the former Lyon forward, 27, has reportedly agreed to a 30% reduction in his salary to help out his new club.
PSG plot Pogba purchase
Paris Saint-Germain are increasingly confident that they can bring Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba to the French capital.
Les Parisiens have already splurged on Inter Milan right-back Achraf Hakimi and made Danilo Pereira’s loan move from Porto permanent, as well as signing Liverpool’s Georginio Wijnaldum and Real Madrid veteran Sergio Ramos on free transfers.
But PSG are keen to take advantage of Pogba’s contract stalemate at Old Trafford and sign the 28-year-old for a cut-price £50m.
Traore transfer
Another player unable to agree a new contract is Wolves winger Adama Traore — and Liverpool are set to pounce.
The Reds are looking to improve their attacking options this summer, with Traore’s ability to play on either flank and drive play forward appealing to manager Jurgen Klopp.
The Spain international, 25, was on Liverpool’s radar last season, before they decided to bring his former team-mate Diogo Jota to Anfield in a bumper £41m deal.
Olsen on the move
Robin Olsen’s performances for Sweden at Euro 2020 have caught the eye of West Ham, who are searching for a goalkeeper to compete with regular No1 Lukasz Fabianski.
The 31-year-old made 11 appearances in all competitions on loan at Everton last season and Roma are looking to sell the experienced custodian.
But the Hammers face competition from Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid, with both LaLiga clubs keen to add another stopper to their ranks.
