Do join us on 17th May for the resumption of international cricket. For now, this is KASHIF BUTT signing off . Cheers and bye..
That completes our coverage of what has been an enthralling Test series between two well matched teams. There will be a 20 day break in the international calendar before West Indies take on England in the 1st Test at Lord's. All eyes will be now on the IPL as the excitement in the shortest format continues.
Clarke has been presented the winning cheque and the Frank Worrell Trophy.
Chanderpaul: Very happy that I have scored some runs here. It was pretty difficult for me as well for the Aussie guys, they play on quick and bouncy surfaces. They applied themselves very well. We have some young guys in our team who will learn from this experience. You need to play yourself on this wicket, you might get a good wicket and get out but you should play according to your strength on such surfaces.
Shiv Chanderpaul is the MoS
Wade: Difficult surface, the ball was turning big. I had a partnership with Hussey and it helped us. Keeping on this surface was challenging and great fun. Happy to have played the Tests over here.
MoM - MS Wade(Australia):- Runs:106 - Balls:146 - 4s:10 - 6s:3 - S/R:72.60
Clarke: This win tops off the summer, we played some good cricket all around against India and West Indies. The support from both set of fans was superb. West Indies were superb and I think they are a nation on the rise. Another spinner would have been nice, we did not expect this surface to spin that much. Happy that we got off the line. It has been a great effort from the whole team. Credit to Wade who was on debut and scored a hundred.
Sammy: This is a beautiful place to play cricket in front of full houses. The final scoreline does not reflect the type of cricket we played. But we were up against Australia. Congrats to Shilly for his 10-wkt haul. Very proud of the guys, we should have wrapped them up after having got them at 169/7. Our batting has let us down, everyone has tried to do their best. Hopefully we will do well in England. Gibson has brought in a professional attitude to our name. Congrats to Clarke on winning the series.
They now move from their home comforts to the challenging climes of England where they play the hosts in a 3 test series starting from May 17. Otis Gibson and his players will have to put up a better show if they are to return home victorious.
A tale of missed opportunities for the hosts. They had their chances in both the completed matches but failed to apply the finishing touches. In what has been a difficult series for the batsmen, Shiv Chanderpaul was by far the best of the batsmen on either sides scoring 316 runs at a superb average of 86.50. Darren Bravo and Narsingh Deonarine showed their potential without managing big scores. In the bowling front, Kemar Roach and Shane Shillingford took the honors with their maiden ten wicket hauls in Test cricket but the regression of Devendra Bishoo will be something for the West Indian management to ponder about.
A mixed series for Australia. None of their top ortder shone though the entire top order got atleast one score of 50 or above. Mathew Wadewas neat behind the stumps and scored th elone century for the visitors on this tour. With the status of Brad Haddin unknown, he has virtually sealed his place as the reserve wicket keeper. Ben Hilfenhaus and Nathan Lyon led the bowling charts with everyone else chipping in with useful contributions. Australia now have a long break in Test cricket with their next Test scheduled at home against the visiting South Africans in November.
Australia have completed the formalities. You have to say that the wicket of Chanderpaul last ball yesterday was the final nail in the coffin. Deonarine was dismissed in a strange fashion very early, Baugh threw his wicket away, Roach and Rampaul were consumed by the spinners as Clarke completed a 5-wicket haul. Sammy fought hard and was helped by No. 11 Shane Shillingford as they ate into the target. Lyon completed the formalities to hand over the test and the series to Australia.
96.3Lyon to Sammy, W

Catch OUT. Australia win by 75 runs. Sammy's fight is over, this was tossed up on the middle and spinning down the leg, Sammy was shaping for the sweep, gets a top-edge that is safely taken by Hilfenhaus running in from short fine. Jubilation for Australia and disappointment for West Indies.
96.2Lyon to Shillingford, 1
---
1 Run. Full and outside off, Shillingford skips down the track and drives it wide of cover for a single.
96.1Lyon to Sammy, 1
---
1 Run. Almost a catch, this was flighted outside off and spins back in, Sammy jabbed at that and gets it over Cowan at FSL.
95.6Starc to Shillingford, 0
---
No Run. Slower delivery outside off, Shillingford pushes forward and is beaten.
95.5Starc to Shillingford, 2
---
2 Runs. Full and outside off, Shillingford drives it in the gap between cover and extra cover. He wanted a second and Sammy has to hurry back as Warner aims at the bowler's end.
95.4Starc to Shillingford, 0
---
No Run. Back of a length delivery on off and angling away, Shillingford plays inside the line and lets it go.
95.3Starc to Shillingford, 4
---
FOUR. Fab shot, width outside off from Starc, Shillingford gets forward and thumps a square drive past cover for a boundary. This is his best effort in Test cricket.
