- Jarrod Bowen has scored four goals in his last five league home games
- Luton have conceded 24 times in their last eight away matches
- Recommended bet:
Jarrod Bowen to score

David Moyes will be an emotional figure on the sidelines at the full-time whistle on Saturday as he takes charge of his final home match as West Ham manager, but prior to that he will be looking for a reaction from his side following their 5-0 humiliation at Chelsea last Sunday.

There is a good chance he will receive that, given Luton have lost five away games on the spin in an eight-match winless run on their travels, but the Hatters are desperate for points as they remain 18th in the Premier League and will be keen to get a result at the London Stadium.

Team news

Kalvin Phillips’ loan move to West Ham has been a disaster and he is unlikely to get a chance to go out on a high as he remains on the sidelines alongside Nayef Aguerd.

There is better news regarding another Hammers centre-back, though, as Dinos Mavropanos is expected to be fit enough to feature and could slot in next to Kurt Zouma.

Luton are still without long-term absentees Tom Lockyer, Issa Kabore, Marvelous Nakamba, Jacob Brown and Amari’i Bell while the game looks to have also come too soon for Chiedozie Ogbene, Dan Potts and Mads Andersen.

The stats

Jarrod Bowen has scored 16 Premier League goals this season, four of which have come in the last five home games

Jarrod Bowen has scored four goals in his last five league home games.

Luton have conceded 24 times in their last eight away matches.

West Ham have lost just one of their last eight home games, although five of those fixtures have finished level.

The Hatters are winless in their last eight away matches, losing six times in that run with defeats in each of their last five on the road.

Both teams to score has been a winning bet in six of the Hammers’ last eight at the London Stadium.

All but one of Luton’s last 16 games seen both sides find the net.

Prediction

West Ham fans will be keen to give Moyes the send-off he deserves at the London Stadium this weekend and the hope is the players will oblige too.

That is not a certainty, however, given the Hammers have now gone six games without a win and with the added context that Luton are fighting for their Premier League lives, so their star men will need to step up to get a result.

One man who did step up in the Hammers’ humiliation at Stamford Bridge, albeit with no rewards, was Jarrod Bowen. The England forward hit the woodwork an extraordinary three times in west London and he surely cannot be that unlucky two games in a row.

Bowen has netted four goals in his last five home matches in the Premier League and also scored in the reverse fixture at Kenilworth Road.

Moyes was the manager who gave the former Hull forward his Premier League debut and Bowen will be looking to return the favour by netting in the Scot’s final home match as West Ham boss to help give the veteran gaffer a perfect send-off.

Given Luton have shipped 24 goals in their eight-match winless run on the road, it seems likely the Hammers’ top scorer will get plenty of opportunities against the Hatters and he should be backed to net in east London.
